Celebrating the Poincaré Conjecture

Heidelberg University (Mathematisches Institut + STRUCTURES + GeoDyn) organizes a public event on the Poincaré Conjecture, one of the seven Millennium Prize problems. The list of these seven incredibly difficult mathematics problems was established in 2000 by the Clay Mathematics Institute in order to celebrate Mathematics in the new millennium, and a solution to each of these claimed problems is accompanied by an award of 1 million US dollars. Among them, the Poincaré conjecture is the only one that has been completely resolved. We are organizing public lectures and workshops to share with you these rich and exciting new developments in mathematics. These events are part of the Millennium Prize Problem celebration taking place all over Germany.
